Rage Against the Machine
It takes a tremendous amount of strength and courage to be you. The world is constantly bombarding us with how we should look, eat, play, live, and act. On top of all of those recommendations, we are also told what to believe. Where we were born and raised will largely determine what god we will believe in and serve. That’s the tricky part about religion. It’s more about placement and exclusivity. However, just because you are born in a particular country and raised to believe a certain thing does not mean you must remain within that system.
I believe it takes great strength to go against the grain. Many are raging against the machine by releasing religion and analyzing what they want their lives to be about. I can hear the protestant Christians now, clambering about how hard it is to be a Christian in America. Um, no, it’s not. Much of the political structure and laws favor Christians. As a matter of fact, there are laws in place in many states that forbid atheists from holding office. This exclusion could be viewed more like persecution. All of this is to say that it takes great strength to be you. Don’t let society tell you who you are. No, live strong. Don’t be afraid to discover who you are and what you like, and then live it. Be unashamed with who you are. Contact me if you would like to learn more.
