Self-Trust

When someone starts to deconstruct belief systems, they often unearth evidence of past trauma. This evidence can show up as verbal, mental, emotional, spiritual, or even physical trauma. One of the common side effects of trauma is the inability to trust oneself. I suffer from this side effect. I struggle to trust my judgment because I have been told what to believe my entire life. Additionally, I always felt I needed to rely on a more spiritually mature person to help guide me, as I was lacking in discernment. Does any of this sound familiar?

Here are just a few of the many outcomes of a lack of self-trust:

  • Self-Doubt

  • Difficulty making decisions

  • Ignoring gut instinct

  • Compartmentalizing feelings

  • Self-blame for trauma and doubts

Because I see them daily in the mirror, I recognize these symptoms of trauma and self-doubt in many of my clients. The challenge of learning to trust yourself can be a long and arduous journey; however, Iā€™m willing and ready to walk through this with you. You do not have to struggle to achieve victory alone. We can do it together!
